Hi and Welcome to my blog. This is all very new to me, so I'm not really sure what I'm doing...
Let me start by telling you that I am obese. Actually I think I'm morbidly obese. It depends on which BMI calculator you use I guess, they all have different ways of telling me I'm too fat! I have decided that I don't want to be obese anymore. I don't want to be skinny either. I really just want to be healthy. I want to buy clothes off the rack to be even more honest!! I love my curves, always have, I just don't like the lumps and bumps they are turning into! I have tried all the usual diets as well as some unusual ones and have now concluded that I need WLS to help me achieve my desired weight loss.
The first time I became aware of a lap band was when someone told me recently that Mickey Robins had one and thats how he lost his weight! I know what you're thinking, geez does this girl live under a rock!! Crazy I know but as soon as I seen how it worked for him - I WANTED ONE TOO!
I have spent the last 6 months researching, and then researching some more. I have also quite literally been stalking blogs. I can't get enough of them. The first blog I found was Kimsbanded. Kim is no longer blogging but I still go to her blog just to see her pictures! They are such an inspiration to me. Everytime a have one whiff of a second thought or doubt I go to her page and just look at the pictures. I want her success! Another inspiration to me is Rachel, there are other bloggers too but the list will go for pages and pages if I write them all!
I have booked in for surgery in November with Dr Tony Patiniotis. He is very nice, I was so nervous when I had my first appointment with him in April. I think I was scared that he would see me as a failure, which is I guess how I see myself looking back on it. It's strange how you can have it all together in all other aspects of your life but when it comes to controlling the food you consume, it is all out of whack! Bring on November I say!!!
Ok so this is my first post done. I'm not too sure on how good I'm going to be on updates etc, but I am going to try and update regularly. As I am not banded as yet, it may get boring if I continually write "I can't wait til surgery" daily so I'll only update when I have something important to share, vent my frustrations or let you know any doubts I experience in the meantime.
Bye for now...
Kellie :)
